Nan Yu completed his master’s degree and directly started teaching at the school. The work environment was simple, and even at thirty years old, he had never experienced the darkness of society, making him an easy target for deception.
Shuichang asked, “Are you serious?”
Mu Baichun nodded affirmatively. “Of course.” With the hook baited, a frivolous smile crept up at the corners of his mouth. His gaze burned with intensity, traveling from Shuichang’s prominent Adam’s apple down to his collarbone, as if he could see straight through his clothing, locking onto Shuichang’s bare body.
Uncomfortably shifting in his seat, Shuichang’s ears flushed red. He feigned interest in the scenery outside to evade Mu Baichun’s increasingly clingy stare. However, Mu Baichun misinterpreted his embarrassment, his mischievous smile only growing wider.
The scene transitioned to Mu Baichun’s villa, a standalone residence surrounded by black iron gates entwined with wilting white roses. A spacious front yard was filled with flowers, and a small fountain stood in the center. By the time Shuichang and Mu Baichun arrived, guests had already started decorating around the fountain.
Streamers and balloons adorned the area, a barbecue grill was set up, and a nine-tiered cake sat at the center of the dining table, surrounded by crystal glasses stacked likewise.
Upon spotting Mu Baichun’s arrival, someone shouted, “The birthday star is here! Pour the wine; let’s toast together!”
Crimson liquid flowed into the crystal glasses from above.
Mu Baichun walked over and poured two glasses, handing one to Shuichang.
“It’s an honor for Baichun to have you all here. As I lack eloquence, I can only express my excitement by drinking. Here’s to you all!” He downed the red wine in one go.
“Cheers! If Mu is drinking, how can we not? Let’s wish Mu a happy birthday!” cheered a guest, and everyone raised their glasses in unison, toasting him before quickly downing their drinks.
With a beaming smile, Mu Baichun stood beside Shuichang, who, finding it unavoidable, also drank. The rich liquid flowed slowly into his mouth, the movement causing Shuichang’s Adam’s apple to bob. The wine slicked his lips, making his red mouth even more tempting.
Mu Baichun swallowed hard, a rush of heat spreading through his throat. He slightly lifted his head, showcasing his interest. “Yu, let’s drink another glass.” Mu Baichun’s voice was husky.
In his eyes, Nan Yu coming to his villa was already a display of possession. He was unreserved in showing his attraction towards Nan Yu. In this place, Nan Yu’s attractiveness was akin to a wolf cub in a sheepfold; one blink away from being taken advantage of.
The intention behind Mu Baichun’s invitation to drink was not pure; it was also a declaration of ownership, clearly signaling to others that this man was his prey for the night. The man who had taken Mu Chengguang’s heart stirred something hot in him. If Nan Yu catered well to him tonight, there was a chance for a longer relationship to blossom.
Ling Tuan remarked, “This Mu Baichun is so wicked; I can’t even bear to watch!”
Shuichang responded, “His expression makes me feel nauseous. Do you have any thoughts?”
Ling Tuan replied, “As far as I know, Mu Baichun is a natural bottom; why not let him be a top for once?”
Shuichang chuckled, “That’s interesting.”
Ling Tuan beamed, “Hehe, thank you for the compliment!”
As the night deepened, orange-hued bulbs lit up the courtyard, creating an atmosphere filled with ambiguity. Suddenly, music played, and fueled by alcohol, men and women shed their daytime facades, dancing closely.
Mu Baichun drunkenly urged Shuichang to drink five glasses of red wine while remaining composed. Surprisingly, Shuichang felt dazed, his body softening. Yet, he was far from giving up; after cutting the cake, he insisted on pulling Shuichang to drink more.
The wine guru, Shuichang, filled their glasses to the brim, and without hesitation, downed his sixth glass.
With blurred eyes and flushed cheeks, Mu Baichun pulled Shuichang closer, a smile curling at his lips as he murmured, “Come on, touch me~”
Shuichang quickly withdrew his hand, tugging Mu Baichun’s collar as they stepped into the “dance floor.” The darkness was the most seductive of demons, turning day-dressed individuals into wild dancers—several particularly provocative, their eyes lighting up at the sight of the drunken Mu Baichun.
Releasing his grip, Mu Baichun wobbled dangerously, and at that moment, several hands reached out to support him. Shuichang observed from a distance, noting that it was a long-haired man who ultimately steadied him.
With good looks and a wealthy background, Mu Baichun, in the eyes of these party-goers, was a prime catch. Though he had previously revealed his preference for men, he had never confessed to being a bottom, leading others to assume he was a top based on his demeanor. This misunderstanding triggered the earlier scuffle for his attention.
Had the others known Mu Baichun was just like them—these little bottoms—they would have never dared to make a move on their “sister.”
In this chaotic space, after drinking on an empty stomach, Shuichang felt a pang of hunger. He approached the grill and cooked some skewers, seasoning them, and was pleasantly surprised by the taste.
“Do you mind giving me a couple of skewers?”
Startled, Shuichang turned to find a middle-aged man beside him, who smiled warmly.
“Don’t get me wrong, I was brought here by a friend; I’m not like them. I have a wife and kids.”
Shuichang split one of his skewers in half and shared it.
The grateful man devoured it quickly, finishing every last piece. “I’m sorry; I just can’t handle hunger.” He accepted the juice Shuichang handed him and introduced himself. “Hello, I’m Song Li, a screenwriter and director.”
Shuichang raised an eyebrow and shook his hand. “Nan Yu, I was a teacher before. Now I work in financial investment.”
A spark of interest flickered in Song Li’s eyes. “Mr. Nan is in financial investment; it seems you’ve been doing well. You know, a good talent scout finds a thoroughbred, and you can earn money while sitting at home. I have a movie script in progress and am currently preparing the crew for filming. I wonder if you have any interest in investing? If the film does well, your returns could be many multiples of your investment.”
Shuichang hesitated, not wanting to commit without seeing the script. He lifted his gaze to the starry sky, sighing, “The night is truly beautiful tonight.”
